dialysis scholarship RECIPIENTS

JORDAN was the  first DSF scholarship recipient.  He graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor's  in Advertising.  Jordan said,  “The DSF Grant eased the financial burden that dialysis, school and living on my own entail. It was hard  to hold a job, take 15 hours in school, do dialysis and constantly worry about paying back loans. This grant helped tremendously.

CHELSEA received her Bachelor's Degree in Human Development from Colorado State University.  Chelsea says, “I am so thankful for this scholarship because it allowed me to stay in school while managing my treatments. I never thought I would be able to be as involved and dedicated to school as I have been while on dialysis, but it is the generosity of organizations like DSF that made it possible.”

ELIZABETH received her Master’s Degree in Biochemistry at Washburn University in Kansas .  She wants to pursue a position in Nutrion with a  desire to  ease patient worries and help them cope with the transition to a renal diet while on dialysis.  Elizabeth said,  “I want to thank DSF for this honor. It has helped me so much and I was able to make the Honor Roll.

IVY is  currently  writing a dissertation for his Doctorate in Higher Education  and Leadership.  Ivy remarked "End Stage Renal Failure simultaneously  made me both humble and powerful and I want to excel in all areas of my  life in which I have control.  It is truly an awesome gift that DSF  provided and I have leared to 'Make Downtime, Uptime' by pursuing my  college education."

JESSICA received  her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Broward Community College in  Florida  and said,  “It is such a blessing to have an organization like  DSF that cares so much for dialysis patients. They dedicate their time,  money and energy to make our lives a little easier. I appreciate  everything you have done for me.”

EVELYN received  her Bachelor’s  Degree in Nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing in Georgia .  She  said,  “I appreciate all of your help in helping reach my nursing school  goals. Everything and anything helps and I can't thank DSF enough.”
